    Ensuring uniform bean quality with no defects affecting the coffee’s flavor. This criterion evaluates two groups of defects:

    • Primary defects: these are serious defects commonly found in green Robusta coffee beans. Specifically: Full black (completely black beans), Foreign matter (foreign objects in the coffee sample), Fungus or Mold (moldy or fungal coffee), Severe insect damage (severely insect-damaged beans).
    • Secondary defects: minor or partial bean defects such as Broken, Partial black, Partial insect damage.
    • Another concept for evaluating green coffee bean defects is Full defect, referring to beans with 1-5 Primary defects or 3-10 Secondary defects
